Hangit is a coat rack made out of bamboo strips. The bamboo stips play an important part in the interactivity of the design because of the flexibility they add. The design has eight arms that people can hang their coat, bag, or anything they want. While people hang the stuff to these arms, they tend to bend forward with the weight. When the hanged stuff is taken back, arms return to their original place. Inner parts of the bamboo design are colored in order to distinguish from the outer view and experience that opening effect.

HANGIT

PROCESS

Design process based on bamboo
strips and their flexibility.

Because of the bamboo strip's elasticity,
the arms of the product will bend with
the existing weight and get back to its
original shape again.

5mm metal sheet cut and bent into a circle that would fit between the inner and the other part. This metal sheet will provide the equilibrium when the clothes are hanged.

The inner bamboo-part, outer bamboo-part, and metal sheet circle fitted into each other.

One side of the cut pieces got
painted and rolled into a circle.

10 mm bamboo strips are cut.

The arms are bent out
in order to provide
movement for them
to open.
